Inclusive communities at parents and local partners levels aim to strengthen belonging, recognition, ownership and voice of each and every parent and local partner, regardless of their social-economic or cultural background or their cognitive, physical or social abilities, level of experience, age, gender, language, etc.

An inclusive community at parents and local partners level implies that each parent and relevent local partner feels valued, recognized and accepted as a part of the wider school community, feels invited to contribute to the learning of pupils and feels free to voice their ideas and opinions. 

Strengthening the inclusiveness of the community at parents and local partners level will require three steps:

  1. To recognize positive or negative examples of inclusion at parents and local partners level: How do we recognize inclusion? And what activities count as support for inclusive school communities at parents and local partners level?
  2. To identify steps to strengthen and support inclusive communities at parents and local partners level: What kind of support can strengthen belonging, recognition, ownership and voice of parents and local partners? And what resources are needed for this?
  3. What barriers hinder the development of inclusive communities at parents and local partners level? And how can we breakdown these barriers?
